Guiding Angel

My wife suggested I should give a post processing to the angel monument to give it a little more dramatism, and here it is. I see some photographers are proud to say that they do not alter the shots they take, but that is not my case, Sometimes I like to play with the shots to produce emotional results, sometimes it works, some times it does not, but it is interesting. Cretainly there are shots that demand not to be postprocessed, and there is an inherent value to them, as they illustrate the skill of the photographer for composition.

Street working

This old fellow works making "magic tricks" at a street corner, tough work to tell the truth.

The Graveyard 1

I dropped for a couple of hours today in a local graveyard called "Carmen y Dolores", and, boy, there are plenty of beautiful monuments and mausoleums to shoot, also it is a feast of decaying stuff to shoot at will (of course, with all due respect to the deceased). This one was perfect to give an eerie mood with some tinkering in PhotoShop.

Remember Leni

I have taken this little moment to honor the memory of Leni Riefenstahl, because she has been my main source of inspiration and motivation for my photographic affair, what a woman, what an artist, what a photographer. Unstoppable till the end, and in spite of her much discussed relations with the Nazi party, of the many difficulties along her life, and the perils she faced, her unmatched innovation legacy for movies and photography as an art form will stand as testimony of her character, her beauty instinct, and marvelous sense of grandiosity. She died on Monday 8 September 2003.

Check http://www.leni-riefenstahl.de/, for a glimpse of her work and life, also I included a link on the side of my photoblog.
